$100m orders expected from Expo Pakistan

Over 600 foreign businesspeople in Karachi to attend the exhibition.

KARACHI: With over 600 foreign businesspeople in Karachi to attend the 6th Expo Pakistan, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) expects to get over $100 million worth of orders from international buyers.

Speaking to the media at his office on Wednesday, TDAP Chief Executive Tariq Puri said the response to Expo Pakistan, which would be held from October 20-23, was extraordinary from international companies. “This year, we expect $100 million orders, surpassing orders of $80 million in the previous exhibition,” he said.

Commerce Minister Amin Fahim will inaugurate the exhibition at the Karachi Expo Centre on Thursday.

The 600 foreign businesspeople represent 52 countries.

Puri said this year’s exhibition had more international outlook as China and Japan were given two special pavilions with 10 to 15 stalls each. TDAP had already received Rs150 million as fee of 300 stalls.
