Encroachments: State land worth Rs12.463b recovered

Divisional administrations have retrieved state lands worth Rs12.463 billion from encroachers in the Faisalabad division.
A divisional administration spokesperson said that a crackdown was initiated against the land mafia involved in occupying state lands in Faisalabad without justification.
He said that during the ongoing operation, 12,194 acres of state land worth Rs12.463 billion had been retrieved so far.
Divisional administration officials said that so far 9,904 acres worth Rs11.503 billion were allocated under the Faisalabad district, while 1,178 acres worth Rs198 million was allocated under the Jhang district.
Similarly, 1,015 acres worth Rs725 million fell under the Toba Tek Singh district and 97 acres of retrieved land worth Rs37 million are located in Chiniot.
