Protest: Hundreds oppose road extension
proposed extension of Bosan Road in the district
MULTAN:
Hundreds of protesters rallied against the proposed extension of Bosan Road in the district on Tuesday morning. According to the protesters, hundreds of people would be affected by the extension. “The government is taking our land to extend its road but they are unwilling to pay us a fair amount,” said protester Hafiz Kamal. “They are not paying us the market rate and in some cases have offered less than half the value of the land,” he added. The protesters burnt tyres at Chungi number 9 and shouted slogans against the government demanding that they be compensated fairly before the project could go-ahead.
