Assassination attempt on Zehri: FIR registered against federal and provincial ministers
Zehri's son lodges FIR against Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture and Home Minister Balochistan.
QUETTA:
The son of Provincial Minister for Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) Sardar Sanaullah Zehri lodged an FIR against Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Mir Israrullah Zehri and his younger brother Home Minister Balochistan Mir Zafarullah Zehri for allegedly plotting to assassinate his father.
Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Balochistan’s Convener Sardar Sanaullah Zehri escaped an attempt to his life when his convoy was attacked with a remote controlled explosion near Anjera in Kalat district. No one was hurt in the attack as blast took place few minutes earlier.
Mir Sikandar Zehri, son of Sardar Sanaullah, had registered the case at Surab Levies station and nominated five people, including the Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture and the Home Minister, as the accused. Both are younger brothers of Sardar Sanaullah. Other accused include Mir Noor Ahmed Lehri, Ali Hassan and Mohammad Ismail.
The case was registered under 36 Explosive Act, 7 ATA (Anti Terrorism Act) and under 334 PPC (Pakistan Penal Code). The officials at Surab Levies Police Station confirmed that the case was registered but did not disclose the names of the accused nominated in the FIR.
The Express Tribune made frequent phone calls to reach the senior officials of Balochistan government and concerned senior Levies officials for comments but in vain.
Sardar Sanaullah confirmed that his son had lodged the FIR against his younger brothers; both are sitting Federal and Provincial Ministers.
“I am aware about the people responsible for attacking my convoy thus I have registered the case and nominated the people behind the attack,” he told the reporters at Balochistan Assembly Building after casting his vote.
