House project : Architects to build special space

The Institute of Architects of Pakistan (IAP) embarked on an ambitious House project.

KARACHI:
The Institute of Architects of Pakistan (IAP) embarked on an ambitious House project, aimed at providing a single-room facility for the community of architects of Pakistan, particularly those in Karachi. Arshad Farooqui, the chairman of IAP Karachi chapter, said on Monday that the IAP House will become the centre of all activities related to the architectural community. It will have conference and seminar rooms with a resource centre to encourage students and architects to research. The IAP House, which was inaugrated last Friday, will also include a permanent display area for architectural and interior products, as well as a gallery for displaying architectural works from the region. It is expected to take three years to build.
