Bridge: Pakistan endure miserable day
Bridge team loses to Egypt and Italy in Bermuda Bowl.

Pakistan fared poorly on the second day of the Bermuda Bowl World Bridge Team Championships, suffering losses to Egypt and Italy in Veldhoven, Holland yesterday. The twin defeats come after Pakistan also lost to Sweden and Bulgaria while overcoming Canada earlier in the tournament.
Pakistan, who aimed to reach the last-eight of the tournament, went down to Italy 24-6 while losing 22-8 against Egypt. They now need another 340 Victory Points (VP) in the remaining rounds after finishing the day with 50.
Meanwhile, India have earned 59 VP after five rounds. They lost to Israel 22-8 and drew against Australia 15-15. Italy lead the championship with 106 VP ahead of the hosts who are on 103 while Brazil are placed third with 95.
