Webb Simpson nabbed a brace of late birdies for a share of second place after two rounds of the McGladrey Classic.
Unheralded Billy Horschel surged into the lead with an eagle and two birdies in his last four holes, firing a six-under 64 for a 36-hole total of 12-under 128. But overnight co-leader Simpson stayed in touch with a three-under 67 for 130, tied for second with Michael Thompson (65).
