MQM planning to kill my son: Zulfiqar Mirza
Former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza said on Friday that President Asif Ali Zardari informed him of plots to kill his son, Hasnain Mirza, and himself in a telephonic conversation.
“President Asif Ali Zardari phoned me and said MQM is planning to kill my son Hasnain Mirza and Sindh local government minister Agha Siraj Durrani while federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik is hatching a conspiracy to kill me,” Mirza told a Sindh TV channel (KTN) on Friday.
Mirza said the president called him a day before he had addressed a press conference at the Karachi Press Club and was shocked to know that his own friends were planning to kill him.
“The president also asked me to avoid meeting these people,” he said.
The home minister went on to say that he would never consider rejoining the party until Rehman Malik was relinquished of his duties and the government broke their alliance with the MQM.

@Raja islam. yes there are cases against governor sindh but the people of karachi knows that all of them are politically fabricated no one has challenged him ever in the courts. MQM does not have any cases on the grounds of corruptions. and still MQM has it die heart support in its constituencies because literally mQm has done a lot for middle and lower middle class. they have brought up all their candidates among the real majority of pakistan and all them are Educated with authentic degrees. go to courts and you will see that people take oaths on Quran daily and most of them lie in front of Quran. few years back this man say saying "pakistan na khappay" but certainly from nowhere he became the most loyal person to pakistan. mqm has done tons of social work in its areas but what Mr mirza supporter of dakoits has done for Badin?? dos he has any prove for his wealth created after he entered politics?
@Syed: There are tons of cases registered against members of MQM. So far nothing has happened. Even in cases where convictions have been handed out the culprits have not been arrested. Forget about others, even the Sindh Governor has murder cases against him. Registering more cases will do nothing. It is up to the people to start supporting honest leaders.
Racists killing and shedding blood on the basis of languages they speak. I have met several victims who successfully escaped after being tortured just after answering what is their mother tongue to a bunch of killers. And what Mirza and his rivals are doing is just too difficult to handle for a common man who suffers in the pathetic traffic, brutal load shedding, worst security and unexpected inflation. We are simply direction less. Right now i am sitting at my workplace and the biggest stress on my head is "how to reach home at evening" because of "candle lighting at sharaefaisal in the memory of Karsaz tragedy"
Well! I am sure most everybody is on a "Hit-List" from somebody he has spoken-about or done something-against, no? Now! Who ever has not done anything wrong or is innocent should not be happy_ they are on the hit list of "religious, racial and ethnic extremists".
Is it just me or can everyone here see a similarity between Zulfiqar Mirza and Zulqarnain Haider?

To ZM supporters, for my knowledge can you share me what has he done for Sind as a Minsiter or politician, the only thing he has done is accused MQM, which could be true but there is lot of truth about every party and politician out there, but supporting someone just because he hate MQM is not the right reason. What has he done for the ppl of sind? Infact what has PPP done for Sind since ZB, BB and now Zardari? You can blame MQM as much as you want , but they have done good for the voters. Be sensible, vote against MQM if you don't agree with their politics but supporting one crook just because he accuse another does not make the right reason. He was corrupt, go and check how he got his Sugar mills with help of Zardai.
By saying that “MQM is trying to kill my son”, Zulfiqar Mirza has started a sympathy campaign for his son Hasnain Mirza who would be contesting election from Badin on the Provincial Assembly seat which has become vacant after the resignation of Zulfiqar Mirza has been accepted by the Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Mr. Nisar Khuro.
