Law and order: Suspects who attacked police van arrested

One constable was killed and three injured in the attack.

The Capital City police on Friday said they arrested five suspects involved in firing on a police vehicle last month.


Addressing a press conference, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural Kalam Khan said that a group of police officials were attacked by unknown men on September 28 while patrolling on Haryana
Road in the limits of Khazana Police Station. Constable Zulfiqar was killed while constables Ali Khan, Zila Muhammad and Inamullah were injured.


A team, headed by SHO Razi Muhammad, conducted raids at several locations and arrested a suspect, Falak Niaz.

Niaz, during preliminary interrogations, revealed the names of his accomplices, who were then nabbed by the police. His accomplices, Arsalan, Sher Alam, Asfandyar and Ramdad, were wanted for several crimes, Khan said.

The police also seized an AK-47s and four pistols from their possession. Khan added that two more suspects in the case were yet to be arrested.
