KARACHI: All federal government departments will remain closed today, Saturday, but there will be no holiday for the Sindh government departments as it has yet to get approval from its cabinet.
A spokesman for Chief Minister House said that a cabinet meeting of the Sindh government would be held soon to endorse the federal government’s decision. “We will also follow the decision, but let the provincial cabinet decide on it first,” he said.
The ministry of interior had issued a notification on Thursday for the two weekly holidays for all public and private offices with effect from today. According to the notification, “select operational branches of the commercial banks shall, however, continue to work on Saturdays, to facilitate corporate customers and businesses in their financial transactions.”
