Quaid Trophy: ZTBL in tatters against Karachi
Trail by 272 in first-innings, aim to avoid follow-on.
ZTBL were staring at a follow-on against Karachi Blues as day two ended with the team trailing by 272 runs in the first-innings of their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match at the National Stadium.
Karachi, who were bowled out for 400 after a superb ton by Shahzaib Hasan, reduced ZTBL to 128 for seven with captain Mohammad Sami grabbing two for 38. Tariq Haroon picked up three wickets, putting ZTBL in deep trouble.
Yasin, Jahangir help Sialkot
Mohammad Yasin made 72 and Hafiz Majid Jahangir was unbeaten on 54 as Sialkot reached 187 for two after SBP were dismissed for 341. Jahangir has faced 160 balls while Yasin was dismissed after consuming 165 deliveries as Sialkot trailed by 154 runs in the first-innings.
PIA on top against Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi were deep in trouble after Ali Imran Pasha’s three-wicket haul helped PIA reduce them to 168 for six on day two. PIA, who made 348, were earlier indebted to Fahad Iqbal’s 136-run knock.
Abbottabad post healthy lead
Abbottabad increased their lead to 140 after reaching 24 for one in their second-innings against HBL. The hosts, who made 272 earlier, sent HBL packing for a paltry 156 courtesy Ikramullah’s five-for.
Improved show by Islamabad
Islamabad displayed a much-improved batting performance in reaching 108 for the loss of two wickets against NBP after being dismissed for just 198 in the first-innings. Aqeel Anjum led the way, stroking his way to an unbeaten 80, after Islamabad bowled out NBP for 211. Anjum hit nine fours and was ably supported by Kamran Akmal, who made 38, as Islamabad led by 95 runs.
Faisalabad dominate Wapda
Faisalabad were attempting to bat Wapda out of the game after increasing their second-innings lead to 188. At stumps, Faisalabad managed 104 for two after dismissing Wapda for a paltry 133 in the first-innings.
