Two activists of banned outfit return

IHC was informed on Wednesday that two activists of a banned outfit had returned home.

Islamabad High Court was informed on Wednesday that two activists of a banned outfit had returned home. 


The counsel for the missing activists of Hizbut Tahrir (HT), Umer Hayat Sindhu, told the single-member bench comprised of Chief Justice (CJ) Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, that Imran Yousufzai and Osama Hanif had returned home after their enforced disaapearance three months ago.


They were allegedly picked up by intelligence agencies in July. During the course of hearing, the IHC chief justice asked Deputy Attorney General Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri to record the statements of the two men with the relevant magistrate and submit to the court.

The case was adjourned till October 26. The petition of Hayan Dawan was also withdrawn by his counsel, after his recorded statement was submitted before the court.

Osama Hanif, a telecom engineer, went missing from Sector G-11 on July 12. Similarly, HT deputy spokesman Imran Yousafzai, Hayyan Dawar Khan and a dental surgeon Dr Abdul Qayyum were also allegedly picked up by the security agencies on July 13, 21 and 27, respectively.
