Environmental Pollution: PIA encountered 30 bird-hit incidents

Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) aircraft have met 30 bird-hit incidents mainly due to environmental pollution around the airports in the last six months.
The bird-hit incidents took place since most of the airports are situated in the middle of thickly populated areas ripe will air pollution.
Official sources in PIA informed that in bird-hit cases, the aircraft is thoroughly checked as per the airline’s standard operating procedure and released after necessary repair and maintenance.
According to an estimate, US$ 1.2 million are spent for thorough checking of one aircraft.
