Was blocked in a landslide after heavy rains about one and a half months ago, has yet to open.
SUKKUR:
Camp Road, which was blocked in a landslide after heavy rains about one and a half months ago, has yet to open. Areas including Frere Road, Shahi Bazaar, Sarafa Bazaar, Mochi Bazaar and others have to be reached by alternate routes which are longer. Sukkur Taluka Municipal Administration awarded a contract to clear the road at a cost of Rs150,000, but the pace of the work is very slow because no machinery is being used. The town municipal administrator, Fayyaz Ahmed Memon, assured, however, that the road would be cleared in a couple of days.
