Cottage processing: 500 acre of land demanded for industry

(LCCI) urged the government here on Tuesday to allocate 500 acre piece of land for the establishment of cottage city

LAHORE/KARACHI:
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) urged the government here on Tuesday to allocate 500 acre piece of land for the establishment of cottage city as the cottage industry is a building block of economic development and also inevitable to alleviate poverty and unemployment. LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh made this demand, while speaking at a reception arranged by All Pakistan Cottage Industry (APCI) President Ghulam Sarwar Malik in the honour of the newly elected LCCI office-bearers. Early establishment of a well-equipped cottage city on the pattern of industrial zones in the country should be made part of the economic agenda, he said.
