Football: Violence disrupts Egypt’s plans

Egypt Football Association (EFA) will not be in a position to host an Olympic qualifying tournament owing to a surge of violence in Cairo. Azmy Mejahed, an EFA official, revealed that the federation had apologised to the Confederation of African Football after the development. Egypt was scheduled to host eight African teams for the qualifying tournament from November 26 to December 10. The tournament is now expected to be shifted to Algeria.
