SINGAPORE:
Australia put three unanswered goals past Oman as North Korea’s hopes of reaching a second successive World Cup were rocked with a home defeat to Uzbekistan. Brett Holman, Josh Kennedy and Mile Jedinak were all on the score-sheet as Australia racked up their third win out of three to take control of Group D. “We’ve got one foot in the next round but we’ve still got a lot of work to do,” said Australia captain Lucas Neill. Elsewhere, Alexander Geynrikh’s strike was enough to give Uzbekistan a 1-0 win over North Korea.
