Significance: ‘Culture is the basis of peace and tolerance’
“Our culture is a matter of life and death for us,” K-P Minister for Culture and Information.

Culture is the basis of peace and tolerance in society, which in turn are essential for progressive and democratic forces to gain grandeur.
This was said by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Minister for Culture and Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain during a cultural programme on Monday. The event was organised by K-P Culture Department in collaboration with Hunerkadda College of Arts (HCA) at Islamabad.
Empirical study shows that all living nations possess rich culture, he said, adding that the people of Pakistan take their culture as an inherited asset.
“Our culture is a matter of life and death for us,” he said.
He also said that culture should be taken in consonance with religion and it should not be seen in isolation.
Culture Secretary Azmat Hanif Orakzai, HCA Director Jamal Shah and Culture Director Pervez Khan were also present on this occasion.
