South Asian Beach Games: Kabaddi team downs Sri Lanka
Pakistan’s South Asian Beach Games campaign off to flying start.

Pakistan began their South Asian Beach Games campaign on a winning note with the kabaddi team prevailing over Sri Lanka in its opening match of the event underway in Hambantota.
The team beat the hosts 52-32 comfortably in the first round and now has four remaining group encounters to deal with.
“We had a great start and I’m predicting an India-Pakistan final,” Pakistan Kabaddi Federation Secretary Muhammad Sarwar told The Express Tribune. “Sri Lanka were tough and defeating them has set the tone for us. We have high hopes that the team will clinch a gold medal.”
Pakistan face India, who beat Afghanistan and Nepal to top the points table, in their second match today.
Pakistan men’s handball team also gets their campaign underway today against Nepal while the women’s netball team faces Maldives tomorrow.
