Capital punishment: Junior clerk gets death sentence for murder
Victim was in charge of conducting an inquiry against the accused on his negligence in official performance.

Anti-Terrorist Court (ALTC) Judge Ishtiaq Ahmad, sentenced a man to death on two counts on Sunday.
According to the prosecution, a junior clerk was found guilty of killing office superintendent Madina Town in the area of the Civil Line Police Station.
According to the prosecution, Jaranwala resident tehsil municipal administration (TMA) junior clerk Ahsan Shehzad shot and killed Malik Amjad Rasheed in his office at 1.15 pm on September 29, 2010. The victim was reportedly in charge of conducting an inquiry against the accused on his negligence and delinquency in official performance. After recording evidence, the court adjudicated the arguments of the parties and found the accused to be guilty of the charge of murder. The court also imposed fine of Rs200,000 as compensation stating that the accused would undergo an additional two years in prison.
