Hockey ‘home’ series may be played in Dubai
LAHORE:
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is aiming to restore its ‘home’ series against other countries by finalising Dubai Sports City (DSC) as the venue for future matches following other teams’ reluctance to tour Pakistan due to security concerns.
The PHF has taken the lead from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) which has been forced to play its matches abroad following the Lahore attacks last year. The PHF General Secretary Asif Bajwa will be meeting the DSC management today to finalise the business plan.
“I will meet the CEO of DSC to discuss the business plan to hold our training camps, arranging our home series there in Dubai as an alternative venue,” Bajwa told The Express Tribune. “Our aim is to play as much as we can against foreign teams.”
