Sectarian similarities: DPO urges ulema to preach tolerance
Sectarian harmony and unity among Muslims and religious minorities is the need of the hour: DPO
SIALKOT:
District Police Officer (DPO) Bilal Sadiq Kamiyana has urged the Ulema to shun their sectarian differences in larger national interest. Speaking to local religious clerics on Saturday, the DPO said that any miscreants found inciting religious hatred would be dealt with an iron fist.
He said that sectarian harmony and unity among Muslims and religious minorities was the need of the hour. He stated that all necessary measures had been taken to protect the processions and rallies to be taken out at various places by ulema in the district and that ulema should avoid making sulphurous speeches.
“It is more important to preach tolerance than violence and promote harmony rather than discord,” he said.
