ATC issues arrest warrant for Kasab, Ansari
An Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi on Saturday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Ajmal Kasab and Faheem Ansari and ordered that the culprits to appear before the court on July 24.
Judge Malik Akram Awan issued the arrest warrants in the light of a new dossier on the Mumbai attacks sent by India. According to a counsel for the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Indian authorities will consider the request for handing over the culprits to Pakistan, if Indian courts are approached directly.
He said the warrants are being sent to India, and the Indian response will determine whether both Ajmal Kasab and Faheem Ansari will be able to appear in the court to testify in the case.
