Unscheduled Load-Shedding: Workers protest against outages
Workers were suffering due to continuous load shedding and thousands of labourers had already lost their jobs.
JHANG:
Factory workers have protested against repeated power cuts and staged a sit-in in front of the office of the district coordination officer (DCO) in Jhang. Several rallies of labourers gathered at Ayub Chowk and moved towards the DCO office carrying placards against the government. A large number of women also took part in the protest. The workers said that the power looms were suffering due to continuous load shedding and thousands of labourers had already lost their jobs. The workers dispersed after the local administration assured them that only four hours of load shedding would take place in the district from Friday.
