Bank heist: Rs4 million stolen from bank in North Nazimabad
The robbers took security footage and cameras with them.

On his fifth day on the job, the North Nazimabad SHO found himself dealing with a bank robbery that cost the Habib Bank Limited’s Block-C branch Rs4 million in cash on Thursday.
About seven armed men came into the bank, held the employees and customers hostage and fled with the money and closed-circuit cameras.
“Around seven thousand rupees was snatched from one customer who had come to deposit it, while another customer was asked to hand over his expensive watch,” said the baffled SHO, Asim Siddiqi, as he prepared to face the wrath of his superiors.
At the fourth Pakistan Security Conference just two days ago, the Crime Investigation Department’s DIG revealed that militants from extremist organisations have been involved in at least 12 high-profile bank robberies in the city.
This case has left investigators stumped at least for now. The dacoits took off with both the CCTV cameras and the footage, leaving the police without any leads.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Police Sindh Wajid Durrani has taken notice of the incident and has asked Additional IG Saud Mirza for a report.
The IG directed that witness reports be used to catch the culprits. He was also curious why police teams on mobile vans and motorcycles had not been patrolling the area near the banks during their duty hours.
Police SPs have been asked to coordinate with bank branch heads and market association presidents when it comes to security measures. No case had been registered at the police station till the filing of this report.
