Arrested yesterday in connection with an alleged football betting scam from his home in Liverpool.

The father of Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was arrested yesterday in connection with an alleged football betting scam from his home in Liverpool. The development comes after a nine-month investigation into the sending off of Motherwell midfielder Steve Jennings in a Scottish Premier League game. Jennings was also arrested in connection with the betting probe. A total of nine people were arrested yesterday.
