Comprehensive policy implemented to combat dengue in Punjab
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday that a comprehensive policy is being implemented in order to combat the dengue menace.

He said this while presiding over a session regarding the prevention of dengue in Lahore.
Sharif said that an effective strategy will be chalked out to eradicate the virus.
A committee has also been established under Chief Secretary Punjab Javed Mehmood to monitor the policy.

Sharif asserted that continuous supervision is required to counter an outbreak in the future.
The chief minister also said that a crackdown is underway against warehouses of used and imported tyres, as they are the breeding grounds of dengue mosquitoes.
Dengue claimed six more lives in Lahore, bringing the total death toll in Punjab to 176, Express 24/7 reported on Thursday.
Lahore remains the hub for the disease as 160 causalities have been reported from the city alone.
The overall death toll in Punjab due to the virus has risen to 176.
In the last 24 hours, 343 cases have been reported in the province, of which 281 have been from the provincial capital.
The total number of dengue victims in Punjab has crossed well over 14,000, with more than 12,200 belong to Lahore.
