Thailand’s largest food company has decided to invest in Pakistan’s first-ever Halal Food Park

Thailand’s largest food company has decided to invest in Pakistan’s first-ever Halal Food Park being established at Motorway 3 Industrial City. Charoen Pokhphand Food Company will set up a food processing unit at M-3 Industrial City. In this regard, a Thai delegation visited the site of the park and discussed related matters with Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC).The delegation held meetings with Brigadier (retired) Ahmad Raza Siddiqui and Aamer Saleemi, Heads of Marketing and Sales of FIEDMC. The FIEDMC chairman said the company has reserved 160 acres of land for the Halal Food Park. He said FIEDMC has taken investor support measures, adding there was huge potential to increase bilateral trade between Pakistan and Thailand, which was $953 million in 2010. He also said that Pakistan is a gateway to the markets of Central Asian Republics and the Gulf and any investment made in Pakistan would find markets in the entire region.
