Football: ‘Capello will not stay after Euros’

“He is our manager until the end of the European Championship. That is it.”

LONDON:

Fabio Capello is certain to leave his role as England coach after Euro 2012, according to Football Association (FA) Chairman David Bernstein. Recent reports had suggested that some key figures in the FA are keen for him to remain in charge, but Bernstein made it clear that Capello would not be extending an England reign that began in December 2007. “The position is very clear,” said Bernstein. “He is our manager until the end of the European Championship. That is it.”
