While we may complain about the hot weather prevalent in the country these days, a recent Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan shows that almost half (49 per cent) of all Pakistanis prefer bright day light while only 15 per cent favour the darkness of the night.
A considerable 36 per cent equally like both stages of everyday. Apparently attitudes on this issue vary among people living under different climatic zones as well as different living conditions and housing situations, and among those with access to electricity and those without it.
A detailed analysis of data shows that daylight is more popular in the rural region, with 52 per cent of the people in favour of it, as compared to the urban areas where it is 43 per cent.
