Bank Of Punjab Scam: Judicial remand extended till Oct 17

LAHORE:

An accountability court on Monday extended till October 17 the judicial remand of Hamesh Khan, Sheikh Muhammad Afzal, Seth Nisar and Sheikh Munir, who are accused of embezzling Rs12 billion from the Bank of Punjab (BoP). The court was on Monday shown a medical certificate on behalf of Afzal, the owner of Haris Steel Mills, stating that he could not come to the hearing because of illness. The court directed the National Accountability Bureau to file the reference against the accused by the next hearing. Khan, a former Bank of Punjab (BOP) president, is charged with illegally sanctioning huge loans for the three co-accused.
