SHC tags together conspiracy cases
Mirza, Altaf issued notices for statements made.
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court has clubbed together two petitions on alleged conspiracies endangering the existence of Pakistan as a sovereign state for hearing on October 24.
The division bench of Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Salman Hamid also ordered for notices to be issued to Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain, former Sindh home minister Zulfiqar Mirza and all other government functionaries, chiefs of the armed forces, intelligence agencies, speaker of the National Assembly and Senate.
The petitioner, Haji Gul Ahmed of NGO Anjuman-e-Islami for Social Reform, moved the court maintaining that the PNS Mehran tragedy was part of a greater conspiracy against Pakistan. In a second petition, he maintains that statements made by Mirza and Hussain, both speaking of conspiracies to dismember Pakistan, cannot be ignored.
