
The provincial government has provided Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Mayo Hospital and Institute of Blood Transfusion in Lahore, Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi and district headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Faisalabad with mega cell separator machines it recently imported from Germany.
This was stated by Information Department additional secretary Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani on Monday. He was speaking to media at King Edward Medical University. KEMU Vice Chancellor Prof Asad Aslam Khan, Punjab Health Director General Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhary and Mayo Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Pervaiz were present on the occasion. Health DG Dr Aslam Chaudhary said the 20-member team of Indonesian experts had visited High Dependency Units set up at the teaching hospitals for dengue hemorrhagic fever and held discussions with doctors and paramedics. He said five members of the team separately visited the Directorate General of Health on Monday. He said they were briefed on measures town administrations’ had been taking to eradicate mosquito breeding sites in the city. He said the team provided useful technical information to the officials in charge of these campaigns.
