APC: Firdous Ashiq Awan hits back at Nawaz's statements
The minister regretted that one party was seeking political mileage from the APC
ISLAMABAD:
Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan hit back at Nawaz Sharif saying that at a time when Pakistan needed to show a united front, Nawaz Sharif was seeking political mileage by attacking a democratically elected President.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif had criticised Zardari, calling him a threat to democracy and that the All Parties Conference (APC), declaring its projection of political unity a facade.

Awan, who was interacting with journalists in Islamabad on Monday, said that Pakistan could not afford political trading at this critical time.
She said the President was elected by four provincial assemblies, Senate and National Assembly. He did come into power from backdoor.
"Allegations against President Zardari are an insult to state institutions," Ms. Awan said.
She said the country needs unity but a political party was trying to get political milage from the situation.
The minister said that the nation had given a message of unity to the entire world through holding a successful APC, but unfortunately a political party was trying to get political advantage from the situation.
She criticized PML-N for its recent statements against the President of Pakistan who is an elected head of state.
"It is regrettable that Mian Sahib just after the APC held the press conference and shattered the myth of unity created by APC",the minister said.
To a question she said that Mian Nawaz Sharif has been making tall claims about achievements of PML-N governments in the past,but media should also highlight the charge sheet of the 1999 when his government was overthrown.
