Violence: Grenade attack in Lyari

Unidentified men on motorcycles tossed the grenade at a shop at Niazi Chowk and fled.

KARACHI:
Three people were wounded in a hand grenade attack at Lyari’s Agra Taj Colony late on Saturday night, said the Kalri police. Unidentified men on motorcycles tossed the grenade at a shop at Niazi Chowk and fled. At least three people were injured and were taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi. Doctors said that all three patients were stable. Following the attack, panic and fear gripped the area. Police suspect that the grenade was actually meant for a wedding ceremony taking place on Fida Hussain Road and fell near the shop by mistake. The authorities also raided parts of Lyari and surrounding areas and detained some suspects in connection with the attack.
