Riaz also said that the Chashma Jhelum Canal link will remain open.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif categorically said that all the provinces should be given their due the province will not compromise its share of water.

Earlier on Wednesday, two Irsa members, each from Islamabad and Sindh resigned apparently in protest against the decision of opening the Chashma-Jhelum link canal to release 10,000 cusecs of water to Punjab.

How silently we are going towards bigger agenda of our enemy or if not for bigger agenda of our enemy than at least going towards internally for major differences which can leads to any direction. We are internally fighting each other and blaming each other instead of looking how to resolve this situation and scarify for each others rights till we sort this crisis without any major differences. We are helping and creating ourselves and providing ground for others to put more fire which can leads to any direction. I could only say how inocient or intelligent our country leaders are.
M.AKRAM KHAN NIAZI | 14 years ago | Reply Government of Punjab has chronically failed in protecting the rights of people of Punjab. Government of Punjab has chronically failed in protecting the rights of people of Punjab. Which is evident from the fact that it has not made any efforts for the construction of Kalabagh Dam while Govt of Sind is very proactive even in wasting the water of river Indus in Arabian sea.If Punjab govt can not protect the rights of people living alongside river Indus,it will BE better to separate out those areas from Punjab,so that those people can protect their rights themselves. From NFC award it is evident that Punjab Govt has sacrificed the rights of people just for pleasing those who always hate punjab. Moreover Punjab Govt has not raised any concern about the suffering of people of Punjab in Baluchistan,Karachi and Sind. Thar coal project will have adverse effects on each and every living organism, atmosphere, enviroment in Punjab but Punjab Govt foolish leaders has not shown any concern about that project.
