Tax Net: Officers reminded to declare assets
officers of APUG to submit a declaration of their assets for the current year or they will be punished for misconduct
LAHORE:
The federal government has warned all officers of the All Pakistan Unified Group (APUG) to submit a declaration of their assets for the current year or they will be punished for misconduct, The Express Tribune has learnt. An official said that a majority of APUG officers posted in the Punjab had not submitted their declarations since 2005, and there had been no action taken against them. “It is a responsibility that few officers take seriously,” said the official. He said he knew of many officers who hide their assets. The APUG includes officers of the District Management Group (DMG), Secretariat Group (SG), Office Management Group (OMG) and Police Service of Pakistan (PSP). APUG officers have now been told to send detailed statements up to June 2011 to the Establishment Division, Cabinet Secretariat. Non-compliance with the orders will be considered misconduct under Government Servants (Conduct) Rules.
