Musharraf League: ‘Party officials after Musharraf’s money’

APML's current office bearers are more interested in his money than his politics.

LAHORE:

A former spokesman of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) has warned party chief General (retired) Pervez Musharraf that its current office bearers are more interested in his money than his politics.

In an ‘open letter’ to the former president, Javed Badar said that the party officials were “not loyal to Musharraf, but to the big amount he has collected during his tenure”.

He said that the party’s office in Lahore was “just a drawing room for opportunists” and a waste of party funds.

He advised Chairman Musharraf to replace all the party’s office bearers in Pakistan. He said they had made no preparations to welcome Musharraf on his mooted return to the country in March next year.

Badar, the former Punjab information secretary of the APML, in the letter also chides the former president of Pakistan for “lethargy” in communicating with party workers and officials, saying he rarely replied to their emails and phone calls.
