Told You So: ‘All parties vindicated PTI’s seven-year stance’
PTI had been warning the government for 7 years that the war on terror would hurt Pakistan’s economy and sovereignty.
LAHORE:
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) has hailed the resolution passed by Thursday’s all parties conference (APC) on Pakistan’s foreign policy as a vindication of its position on the matter.
PTI Punjab President Ahsan Rasheed and Information Secretary Andleeb Abbas said in a statement that the PTI had been warning the government for seven years that the war on terror would hurt Pakistan’s economy and sovereignty.
They said that the violation of Pakistan’s geographical and political independence encouraged by successive governments had resulted in a country dependent on American aid. This aid was a payoff for allowing Americans to operate drones from Pakistani territory that killed innocent Pakistanis in the north of the country, they said. “It is good that the PTI’s stance is now being echoed by all parties in Pakistan … time has proven a truth which our chairman Imran Khan has been stating all along,” they said.
