Grandparents’ Day: Anthems and words of affection
Schoolchildren pay tribute to senior citizens.
“Lucky are the children, who are growing up in the love, guidance and protection of their grandparents,” said Roots School System Director Riffat Mushtaq. She was speaking at a Grandparents’ Day celebration here on Friday, said a press release issued by the school.
The young Rootsians of DHA-I campus paid tribute to their grandparents in a manner befitting the occasion. They expressed tremendous enthusiasm, feelings of warmth, love and gratitude for their grandparents. The children had written essays, poems and songs for their grandparents.
The school hall was adorned with balloons, cards, buntings and paintings drawn by the students. The students presented flowers and cards to their grandparents to show their respect.
The children expressed love and gratitude for their grandparents through melodious songs.
There were interesting games and competitions for the grandparents, in which they had to draw their families and sing their favourite songs.
