Bin Laden panel records journalists’ statements
The intelligence official said that he was there to provide chairs to attendants.
ABBOTTABAD:
The judicial commission on the May 2 raid that killed Osama bin Laden completed its two-day visit of Abbottabad on Friday.
While journalists were recording their statements, some people pointed out that an official from an intelligence agency was present. Justice Javed Iqbal questioned the man on how he got inside the premises of the commissioner house and he said he came inside with the janitorial staff. On this, Justice Iqbal asked him to leave the room.
Speaking to journalists informally, Iqbal said evidence had been collected and the report would be compiled as soon as possible. He urged journalists to record their statements and said the commission would guarantee their security.
The commission that comprised Lt Gen Retired Nadeem Ahmed, IG Police Abbas Khan and former envoy to USA Jehangir Ashraf Qazi visited Abbottabad for the second time in the past month.
