Katy Perry is reportedly considering a book and documentary series about her marriage to Russell Brand following the comedian's conviction for rape and sexual assault in the UK.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the singer has received several offers over the years to discuss the relationship but declined to pursue them while Brand's criminal trial was ongoing.

An unnamed source told the publication, “Katy has received multiple offers over the years to tell her story but would not consider anything until after the trial.”

The report also claims Perry's representatives have approached major streaming platforms, including Netflix and Hulu, about a potential documentary project. Neither the singer nor the companies have publicly confirmed discussions.

A source described the marriage as “a very dark period in her life”, suggesting Perry may share details that have not previously been made public.

Perry has spoken about the relationship before. In a 2013 interview with Vogue, she described Brand as “very controlling” and said she had discovered information that changed how she viewed their separation.

“I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can't necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day,” she said.

The couple married in India in October 2010 and separated 14 months later. Perry later revealed that Brand told her he wanted a divorce through a text message on December 31 2011. Their relationship was also featured in her 2012 documentary, Katy Perry: Part of Me.

On November 5 2026, a jury at Southwark Crown Court found Brand guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault involving four women. He was acquitted of two other rape charges and one count of attempted indecent assault.

Brand denied the allegations and maintained that his sexual encounters had been consensual. He was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing on November 9.

Perry was not called to give evidence during the trial, and references to their marriage were removed from prosecutors' opening arguments after objections from Brand's legal team.
