Reema Khan set to make big screen comeback
Actress excites fans as she prepares to return after nearly 16 years

Pakistani film star Reema Khan is set to return to the big screen after a gap of nearly 16 years, joining filmmaker Wajahat Rauf's upcoming film Panchi Pyare.
The announcement has generated excitement among fans and members of the entertainment industry, with many welcoming the return of one of Pakistani cinema's most prominent actresses.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, Rauf said the response to the announcement had been overwhelmingly positive.
"Since we announced it, all we are getting is love from people in and outside of the industry. I think watching her again on the big screen will be a gift for our audiences. She is, after all, our national treasure and a legend," he said.
Rauf described Panchi Pyare as a family comedy with strong emotional elements, adding that the film was being developed as a complete Eid entertainer.
"It's a family comedy with high emotions. A complete Eid entertainer. Reema ji loved the script, and that is why she decided to be a part of this project," he said.
Reema Khan was one of the leading film actresses in Pakistan during the 1990s. She has appeared in more than 200 films since making her debut in 1990 and has been recognised by Pakistan film critics for her acting. She received the Pride of Performance Award in 2019 for her contributions to Pakistani cinema.
Reema was interested in acting from a young age. She studied dance and performed in a theater troupe as a child star. In 1985, she appeared as a child actress in the film Qismat. She was first spotted in 1990 by the Pakistani film director Javed Fazil.
Reema made her breakthrough in Pakistani cinema with Bulandi in 1990 and went on to become one of the leading actresses of the 1990s and 2000s. During a career spanning more than two decades, she appeared in more than 200 films, working in both Urdu and Punjabi cinema.
Her notable films include Nikah (1998), Mujhe Chand Chahiye (2000), Shararat (2003), Koi Tujh Sa Kahan (2005) and Love Mein Ghum (2011).
She also established herself behind the camera, making her directorial and production debut with Koi Tujh Sa Kahan.
Her last major film release, Love Mein Ghum, came in 2011. Her appearance in Panchi Pyare will therefore mark a significant return to cinema for an actress whose performances helped define an era of Pakistani films.
While details about her character and the rest of the cast have yet to be revealed, her comeback has already become one of the talking points among cinema fans.
