Netflix has released the full trailer for its upcoming limited series adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel ‘Pride and Prejudice’, offering a first look at Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy.

The six-part romantic drama will premiere on December 3, 2026, bringing Austen’s beloved love story back to the screen with a new ensemble cast.

The trailer opens with Elizabeth and her elder sister, Jane Bennet, played by Freya Mavor, discussing their futures while lying on a rooftop. Elizabeth reflects on the limited choices available to women, imagining a life as either a governess and spinster or a wife and mother.

The footage also introduces the Bennet family, including their mother, Mrs Bennet, played by Olivia Colman, and their father, Mr Bennet, portrayed by Rufus Sewell. The family’s five daughters face the social expectations and romantic pressures central to Austen’s novel.

Viewers also get a glimpse of Elizabeth’s encounters with Mr Darcy, including a scene in which she finds him skipping stones beside a lake.

The supporting cast includes Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Hopey Parish as Kitty Bennet, Hollie Avery as Mary Bennet, Louis Partridge as George Wickham, Jamie Demetriou as Mr Collins and Daryl McCormack as Mr Bingley. Fiona Shaw appears as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

Written by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn, the Netflix adaptation aims to introduce Austen’s story to a new generation while retaining its romance, humour and social commentary. Alderton has described the novel as a defining influence on romantic comedy and expressed excitement about presenting its familiar characters in fresh ways.

The series is produced by Lookout Point, with Corrin also serving as an executive producer.

First published in 1813, ‘Pride and Prejudice’ remains one of Austen’s most widely read novels, inspiring numerous film and television adaptations. Netflix’s upcoming version will offer another interpretation of the enduring romance between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy.
