QUETTA/PESHAWAR:

Governors of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan on Tuesday said that October 27, 1947 was a dark chapter in the history of Kashmir when Indian forces entered Kashmir and illegally occupied it.

"Kashmir black day reminds us of the struggle, sacrifices and unwavering resilience of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination," Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said in a statement on Kashmir black day.

"The Kashmiri people have been facing hardships, restrictions and human rights violations for several decades at IIOJ&K where India broke all records of oppression," he said.

"The people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan as a whole stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue supporting their legitimate struggle for right of self- determination," Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said.

In his separate message, Balochistan governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail said that the observance of 'Black Day' on October 27 serves to raise a voice against the Indian occupation of Kashmir and to support the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination, in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

He said that solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters is being expressed across the country through public gatherings, processions, and rallies.

In his message, Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail noted that Pakistan has consistently and vigorously highlighted the Kashmir issue at every significant global forum, including the United Nations.

He said that it is the responsibility of the international community to play an effective role in achieving a just resolution to the Kashmir issue and to take practical steps to secure the fundamental right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people.

It should be noted that Pakistan stands against the oppression and tyranny inflicted upon subjugated nations and oppressed groups worldwide, including in Kashmir and Palestine; it is imperative to draw the attention of the international community toward these atrocities and to effectively mobilize global public opinion in favor of the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri people.
