Leslie Bibb joins Camila Mendes in Amazon MGM Studios’ 'Upgraded 2'

Leslie Bibb has joined the cast of Upgraded 2, the upcoming sequel to the 2024 romantic comedy starring Camila Mendes. The film is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios for worldwide release on Prime Video.

Bibb will star alongside Mendes, who is returning to the franchise as both an actor and producer. Director Becca Gleason is set to helm the sequel, with Luke Roberts and Justin Matthews returning as screenwriters after writing the first instalment.

Plot details for Upgraded 2 remain under wraps. The original film followed Ana, played by Mendes, an ambitious intern at a New York City art auction house who pretended to be the company’s director while pursuing a romance with a wealthy man. As their relationship developed, her deception threatened both her career and her personal life.

Amazon MGM Studios secured worldwide distribution rights to the sequel, which is expected to reach audiences in more than 240 countries and territories through Prime Video. Production is scheduled to begin in Italy in October 2026.

Producers include Mike Karz and Bill Bindley for Gulfstream Pictures, Mendes and Rachel Matthews for Honor Role, Lena Roklin for Luber Roklin Entertainment, and Piers Tempest for Tempo Productions.

Bibb recently appeared in the fifth season of HBO’s Hacks, earning an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. She also returned for the second season of Apple TV’s Palm Royale and appeared in the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus.

Her other credits include Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Tag and Juror #2. Bibb is also set to star in HBO’s dark comedy series The Rush Whisperer and Prime Video’s romantic comedy series Escorted, alongside Brett Goldstein and Lesley Manville.

Further casting details and a release date for Upgraded 2 have yet to be announced.
