Heated Rivalry is heading to cinemas, giving fans the chance to experience the hit hockey romance series on the big screen before its second season arrives in 2027.
Regal is leading a limited theatrical release of all six episodes across more than 650 cinemas in the United States from November 6 to November 30. The screenings are being organised in partnership with Sphere Abacus, with plans for audiences in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand to receive similar opportunities.
Based on Rachel Reid’s bestselling novels, the series follows rival hockey players Shane Hollander, played by Hudson Williams, and Ilya Rozanov, portrayed by Connor Storrie. Their competitive relationship develops into a secret romance, forming the emotional centre of the drama.
Written and directed by Jacob Tierney, Heated Rivalry also stars François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, Sophie Nélisse and Dylan Walsh. The show has attracted international attention, helping raise the profiles of Williams and Storrie.
The theatrical event will present the episodes in three pairs, allowing viewers to follow the story in sequence. The first screening combines “Rookies” and “Olympians”, followed by “Hunter” and “Rose”. The final pairing features “I’ll Believe in Anything” and “The Cottage”.
Each two episode screening is priced at $9.99. Regal has also announced that participating cinemas will feature welcome messages from the cast and director. Selected locations are expected to offer limited time themed cocktails called Summer in Montreal and Russians Don’t Blush.
Brooks LeBoeuf, Regal’s senior vice president of US content, said the release would give fans an opportunity to experience the series together in cinemas and celebrate its performances and creators.
Hana Palmer of Sphere Abacus described the show as a global phenomenon and welcomed the opportunity to bring its story to audiences on cinema screens.
Advance tickets are available through participating cinema box offices, mobile apps and Regal’s official website. The limited run also offers fans an opportunity to revisit the first season ahead of the anticipated continuation of Shane and Ilya’s story.
