LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday directed district jail administration to conduct medical examination of a murder suspect apparently suffering from dengue fever. Judge Muhammad Saeed Ullah Mughal asked the administration to submit a report on the issue on October 8. The counsel for Muhammad Gulzar Baig, 52, said his client’s platelet count had fallen to 69,000 according to a blood test conducted from a sample taken during his visit to the sessions court to attend the hearing of the murder case. He said Baig’s life could be in danger if medical treatment wasn’t provided. The judge directed the administration to arrange treatment facilities for the suspect in case he was diagnosed with dengue fever.
