KARACHI:

Families of the victims of the K2 Airways plane crash near Ormara have called for a comprehensive investigation into the airline's operational history, administrative affairs, aircraft maintenance and decisions to keep the aircraft in continuous operation before the deadly accident.

The aircraft crashed near Ormara, a coastal town in Balochistan, on July 7 this year. According to sources, the families have raised concerns over the scope and progress of the ongoing investigation, urging the agency concerned to examine not only the immediate cause of the crash but also the airline's operational and maintenance practices.

The families have specifically called for a thorough inquiry into decisions that kept the aircraft flying before the accident. They have also expressed concern over the lack of a clear assurance from the airline's management regarding assistance in locating the flight data recorder (FDR) and cockpit voice recorder (CVR).
