Rapper Blueface was reportedly detained during a police response to reports of an armed man at a restaurant in Santa Clarita, California, on Monday night, October 19.

Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies attended the 24200 block of Magic Mountain Parkway after receiving an emergency call about a person allegedly carrying a gun at a local business.

The incident reportedly took place at a Yard House restaurant, where deputies encountered a chaotic scene.

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said one person refused to follow officers’ commands as they attempted to secure the area.

A sheriff’s watch commander told KTLA that an individual was detained on suspicion of misdemeanor delaying or obstructing officers in the performance of their duties.

Following an investigation, deputies determined there was no armed man at the location.

Blueface, whose real name is Johnathan Porter, was reportedly livestreaming on Kick when the police response unfolded.

Local entertainment outlet What’s Up SCV identified the rapper as someone allegedly detained during the incident.

The outlet also claimed on Instagram that a weapon had reportedly been brandished and several people had been arrested.

However, authorities have not confirmed those claims, and the sheriff’s watch commander could not verify whether Blueface was the person detained.

It remains unclear what prompted the initial gunman report or whether the individual detained will face criminal charges. Authorities have not released further details.

Blueface rose to prominence in 2018 with his distinctive rapping style. His hit single “Thotiana” reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019, followed by his debut studio album, Find the Beat, in 2020.
